Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church (MVPC) is a congregation of learning, worship, fellowship, and community for persons of all ages --- staff, members, friends and visitors. We want everyone who enters our facilities or participates in church-sponsored activities to feel welcome, cared about, and safe in all respects.
Our policy addresses the safety and well-being of all members of the congregation of all ages, who must be free from sexual, physical or verbal abuse by any member or officer or volunteer involved in church activities. It also is intended to protect guests of the congregation during officially sponsored events. At the same time, the policy seeks to protect members of the congregation and staff from any false allegations of misconduct. It describes procedures for reporting and investigation of alleged violations covered by this policy.
